Evilution

England’s pleasant land
And lines drawn sharply in the sand
Quietly change the law
Steal the milk and bleed the poor

And like the twisted wheel of revolution
It’s evilution

I’ve see this all before
There’ll be no peace without a war
Know just where you stand
Look out for me I’ll hold your hand

Prayer won’t stem the tide of hate
Religion’s far too late
For evilution

Close your eyes and count to ten
Take a breath and then
It’s evilution

The time we knew before
An open house an open door
Your castle’s still your keep
Bolt the doors before you sleep

Forego the price of shame
Cheat and play the game
Of evilution

Hope lies dying in the street
Concede defeat
To evilution
